  Home Care Program     

5. Early intervention programme. Early intervention programme is to address the pregnant mothers to new born child and introduce the different methods to identify retardation or delays in the normal developing process of a child in general . This program needs the support of doctors and child development experts and disability therapists.In this programme, education, awareness, special orientation and regular therapies are involved .

6. Special learning centres. Initiatives are mooted to open new special schools in each grama panchayat to facilitate local learning and training centres . These centres will be developed as Panchayat level CBR sub-centres to co-ordinate  community based training, education, health and caring the aged programme.

7. Access devices. List is prepared to provide mobility aids  and access devices to persons with special needs . Appropriate aids and appliances must be given and support service to must be provided to prepare a barrier-free environment at home.

8. Special skill development programme. 50 youth from each panchayat  with special needs(disabled) will be trained in the first phase on micro enterprises management, self employment skills, agri based business and other new age technologies.

9. Independent living programme. Independent living skills will be trained to persons with severe disability  to address their basic living needs. This is an important services for the persons with disabilities and families , because most of theseverely retarded or disabled  are dependant on others for almost all routine life activities, incfluding toileting. These persons can be brought to the centre for the specific training session .

10. Formation of Special Self Help Groups. SSHG formation is in progress in all panchayaths. Even then this needs more strain in motivating the disabled to engage in participatory livelihood activities, this help to give them more inclusion with in the society. More productive human resource development is expected through this initiative.

11. Micro enterprises. It is planned to start micro enterprises for disabled and managed by them with the help of support organisations. Training and marketing supports will be provided for the success and sustainability of the initiatives.

12. Caring the aged with disability. Day care centres will be opened in each panchayat for caring the aged with the help of volunteers and anganwadi workers.
